I m some the DC in the US. My windows Media Player needed the AC3 2000 but the original site posted in this website wasn t working at first. The site kept automatically downloading from the webpage listed in this site. I revisited the site and clicked download under the closes region listed and it took me to the following site:

i read everyones postings and i used one of the links to get the ac3 2000 codec which i might add took me 7 hours to find what the problem was and then find the codec through this site and then finally download it but as i am pretty much computer illiterate i do not know who to contact or how to find out how to fix my new problem. so i am hoping someone who used the same codec might of had the same problem. my video is playing slower than my audio by about 30 seconds. can anyone help.

Ignore the above. Problem solved. The codec doesnt work properly with windows media player for some reason. It runs perfect through divX player. Anyone having trouble should try using that program.

Depending on where you downloaded your file from, the sound quality differs. The distributer is the cause of the sound problem, try another file and see if you still have the same problem. If you do, then theres probably something wrong with your player/speakers

I had the SAME PROBLEMlthe download did not work for me so I went to and dowloaded a pack called the K LITE which includes the windows CLASSIC player and it works. windows media player 10 does not work but the classic has all kinds of nifty stuff

This link, superb, it is a mirror for a programm named AC3-Filter. What the hell does it do. Are you supposed to install AC3-Filter inside your WMP-Directory or something. It s really weird.

Next, you just have to execute it.

if you wonna be certain it works, open the AC3Filter config in your main menu. Make sure AC3 and DTS are selected in the system menu. After this, open your wmplayer and just enjoy.

I had the same problem with AC3, in WMP11 installed in Windows Vista. I didnt solve the problem completely, however i managed to solve the problem, installing the latest edition of the driver, and DivX player. It will work fine ;. If u dont need any subtitles of course.

You can alvays download a codec pack with lots of codecs. You dont have to but it makes your life easier. Go to www.download.com then do a search for cole. It will come up with Cole2k Media Codec Pack Advanced 6.0.7 click on the download now to, well download. Or click on it to find out what codecs it includes.

that link doesn t work any more, but i was able to find it on here. amazing.

i tried to install 2 other programs, none of them worked directly. After I installed this program, all I did was to click on play. it worked. i didn t even have to start this program at all. however, before i installed this program, i used another program. which only allows me to convert an avi file to sound file. and i played that sound file which quality is much better than this program. that sound quality was like a real dolby system even though I was only using my headphone to listen to it.

thanks for the free software though. i wonder if i have missed any great sound before.

I did a dolby 5.1 mix for my movie. I had a guy do all the encoding and lay it onto my HDCAM tape.

So that is great, but most festivals only take dvd. I still have the six wav files for each speaker. So can anyone tell me how to take them and make them into an AC3 file so the dvd will play 5.1. And also so it will play everything stereo if someone doesnt have a 5.1 system.

ive downloaded xp codec pack 2.1.0 and can play my files in media player classic. But i cant play them in media player 11 and divx, because there is no sound with it. wmp plays it with no sound and divx tells me that the file contain a dolby AC3 audio code 8192. I was worried that the link would be a trap with some virus or spyware but this one worked for me.

Let it install to where it says automatically.

The first time i opened my video in win media player again it didnt work, but closed the program and re-opened it and then it picked up the file was installed and worked

When they first made this TV and when every profession reveiw of this TV was made, it was an awesome TV. Then without telling anyone, LG switched panels from their own LG made high quality IPS panel to a AUO non-IPS middle of the road panel. It was still a good TV, but not close to the earlier ones. Then right before I bought this TV, LG switched out the panels again to a very low quality, bottom of the barrel Chi-Mei panel. Bad colors, bad blacks, smearing, ghosting, and bad response time. The original panel had bad blacks as well, but excellent colors and one of the lowest response times for a TV with no smearing or ghosting. Don t buy this TV expecting a high quality TV like the profession reveiws say. Only buy this expecting cheap low quality TV. The only way to tell what panel you have is to shine a flashlight through the back grills of the TV and look for a sticker that says LG, AUO, or Chi-Mei. I can t comment on the sound quality as I ve only had it hooked up to my PC so far and I used my PC speakers.
